Originally from Michigan, Carl and his wife, Susan have three adult children and two
adult foster children. They are trying to spoil five grandchildren but some of them live in
Norway which makes it difficult. Carl was raised in the American Lutheran Church
community. He is retired from teaching welding but still working on a second career as a
ski bum, (59-year member of the National Ski Patrol). Carl finds that attending St
Francis services and fellowship with the church members and experience soothes his
soul and centers his moral compass.
